WALKING IN HUMILITY: A GREAT BLESSING.

Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble (1 Peter 5:5).

Until and unless you’re submissive to the Lord and His Word, you really can’t walk with the Spirit of God. True humility is yielding to the will of the Father; acting on the Word, regardless and independent of circumstances. It’s about honoring, regarding, and giving

preference to others, because the Word says so.

In Philippians 2:3 (AMPC), the Spirit adjures, “Do nothing from factional motives [through contentiousness, strife, selfishness, or for unworthy ends] or prompted by conceit and empty arrogance. Instead, in the true spirit of humility (lowliness of mind) let each regard the others as better than and superior to himself [thinking more highly of one another than you do of yourselves].” Don’t carry your shoulders so high against your brothers and sisters in Christ, especially your leaders in the Lord; be humble. Be submissive.

Pride and un-submissiveness are signs of demonic presence. Satan wasn’t submissive to God; he was a proud figure, and for his haughtiness, God kicked him out of his place of honor. You must make up your mind to walk in humility. It’s part of the manifestation of the life of Christ in you.

Hebrews 13:17 says, “Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.” You can talk in tongues; you can prophesy; but if you’re not submissive and humble, it’s all in vain.

Walking in humility is a great blessing. Use it for your life, to guide yourself, and you’ll be amazed at the blessings that would result. Humility brings promotion. The Bible says God resists the proud and gives more grace to the humble; resulting in honour, increase, enlargement, and progress.

PRAYER.

Blessed Father, you’re so gracious and kind. I receive your Word today into my spirit, and relate with everyone in meekness and humility of heart, expressing the love of Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY:

Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

1 Corinthians 13:4‭-‬7 AMPC Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.

5 It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God's love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].

6 It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.

7 Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].
