HE'S CHOSEN YOU.
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you (John 15:16).
Some Christians get worried as to whether or not they’re called of God. This has resulted in many being ineffective in the things of God, because they’re searching for God’s “calling.” But the Bible never says anything about us finding out what our calling is; so, it shouldn’t be a bother at all. The most important thing is that you’ve been chosen of God.
Read again the words of Jesus: “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you….” That’s so sublime! After all, the Bible says, “For many are called, but few are chosen” (Matthew 22:14).
Being chosen is higher than being called. You’re among the chosen few. Hallelujah!
Moreover, when Jesus said many are called, but few are chosen, the call He was referring to is the call of salvation, which was made to the whole world. Those who believe and are saved are the chosen ones; sanctified and separated from the world, unto God.
Now that you’re born again, you’ve been chosen out of the evil and decay that exist in the world, to a life of unending glory. This choice was made before the foundation of the world:
“According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love” (Ephesians 1:4).
Some people find it difficult to accept this truth, for they think they’re not good enough for God. They don’t believe the Lord could choose them; but He chose us at a time when we didn’t even know Him. Therefore, don’t allow guilt or sin-consciousness rob you of your special place in God. He’s chosen you to reveal His glory through you. There has to be a dawning; a consciousness of this reality in your spirit. Hallelujah!
PRAYER.
Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for choosing me as a vessel to propagate the Gospel, and for your grace that’s mighty in my life. I walk conscious of this grace, making full proof of it. I’m strengthened with might by your Spirit in my inner man, and I’m sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
